Iconic Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is globally recognised for her vivid imaginary world and her unique art of self-examination. This animated biopic blends realist and dreamlike animation to explore her identity via her two selves – Frida, and Painted Frida. We will enter the surreal worlds of some of her best-known paintings, while focusing on her early life, her personal relationships and the beginnings of her public recognition. The film will form a rich canvas of a life full of laughter, romance, pain and curious introspection. An original story written and directed by BAFTA-winning writer and director Paloma Baeza (POLES APART, THE HOUSE).
